quick write

     The Golden Men

This is a story of golden men, in a golden jet, in a golden space, in a golden galaxy. They had a good life on their golden planet but then a blue and green portal formed in the sky. It was so big it could go 20 miles. Then all the golden people went in the jet but the jet got sucked in. The jet in then they were in the normal galaxy were they found the earth it wasn't golden so they went to the planet. And when they landed carefully they were confused they did not know why they weren't wearing golden suits then the people help them become normal like them and they did and they had lived now and they were happy the end.

this is a cool quick write about people from another galaxy where everything is golden.

Timatas marae learning story

Corinna School went to Mareroa Marae to stay the night. We were also celebrating Matariki, the Māori
New Year.

When we went to the marae from school I held a little kids hand all the way and I was great at doing it.
At the marae, we got to go in groups. I went on a tablet and we did Minecraft. We had to build the marae.
Next, I did poi with Kate. We learned about different actions and new songs. I was good at making things
and listening to others.

The rules we had to follow were that we weren’t allowed to roughly touch the statues, take your shoes off,
no running around and no eating anywhere excepted the kitchen.

Then we played outside I played with a hula hoop I played with Israel, Dezil, and Luchiano. After that, we
walked back to Corinna School and left the people that were staying there. For me, the most special
part of being at the marae was sharing time with friends. It felt like a great day at the marae!

art learning story

My opinion of surrealism art is a mix of real faces and things to make it
interesting, they add parts to make it look like a face but not so much of a face.

I made it look real but adding waves to it and a sun with birds and I did some robots

as glasses. My emotions, my things, I watch things I do and what I love, what i’m
inspired by and who I’m inspired by, things that make me.  Our style of Surrealism art
and what we've done with our self-portrait was to show our culture, the sport I like and the
games I enjoy.

What I found hard was when I couldn’t understand what to do so to help solve this I could
ask for help from my teacher.

The things I liked  about art was the different stages like light drawing and then making it
dark

To help with our art Ngati Tuakana went on a bus to Pataka art museum we had some
lunch after lunch we meet two workers called Esme and Linda. They took half of us to a
space and the other half to another space. We had to get in groups of three or four I had
Breyton, Pasiano and Tevin. We were looking at a painting. We were looking at a soldier.
and we got a big piece of paper then we did a lot of writing it could fill two pages. After
that, we went into a circle with a clipboard with an empty face. We all had our own picture we
did the eyes then we gave it to the next person then we did the nose then we switched
again then we did the mouth when we did that switched back. Then we put our name on
it and we gotta keep them then we switched we got to pick one out of five you could do a
paper face of you then you try make it look realistic.

Things I can get better at are it staying focused and to not play with anything to distract me.

lab in a box

I tried: not listening to sue and do something else then I got put in castle so now I know I should also listen.

20170816_134245.jpg
I found out: we had to pick a partner we had to use this bubblewrap stuff sue told room 5 can shape t me and Xiah made a ball we had to put into hot water we had to wait a long time when it dried up we all bounced them around.

Copy of 20170816_140019.jpg
20170816_140024.jpgAnd we squirted some kind of colour. We had blue. We had to wait a while. When we took it out, it looked like a gummy but it felt like an octopus tentacle.

Then we went inside we drew faces on two marshmallows. Then Sue put them in a science bottle. It was connected to a vacuum. We turned it on then the marshmallows started to grow because we were pushing air into it. Then we did it the other way around. We were sucking air out.

20170816_142548.jpgWe had an empty bottle. We put in chemicals in it. Then it was slowly coming out. We did the same thing but we put something else, that one went out faster than the other one.

  1. The key competencies I used that helped me were.
  2. Not get distracted.
  3. Stay focused.
  4. Listen to Sue.
